How Our Storage Works
Inventory at PrepIt doesn’t just sit on a shelf — it’s received, confirmed, and assigned to clear locations so you always know what you have on hand. We count and record your products in our system, store them in a clean, organized environment, and keep locations up to date as inventory moves into FBA prep, carton forwarding, or direct-to-consumer fulfillment.
Receiving and counting
Shipments are checked in, contents verified, and discrepancies are flagged.
Location assignment
Inventory is assigned to pallet or bin locations in our WMS, so SKUs are findable.
Inventory visibility
Inventory levels and movements are logged so you can see what is on hand from your portal.
Accuracy checks
We conduct periodic checks to ensure on-hand counts reflect what’s in the warehouse.
Carton Forwarding
Carton forwarding is available for single-SKU, prepped, case-packed units that are ready to go. When your products arrive already packaged for fulfillment, we can receive and confirm the cartons, store them if needed, and then forward full cases to Amazon FBA, Amazon AWD, or other destinations with minimal handling. This gives you a faster, more efficient path for simple, high-volume SKUs.

Carton forwarding is for single-SKU, prepped, case-packed units that need no prep.

Storage & Carton Forwarding Pricing
Our storage and carton forwarding services are designed for brands that use PrepIt as an ongoing logistics partner, not a one-time overflow solution. Pricing is structured to be straightforward, so you can budget clearly and understand exactly what you’re paying for.
How pricing works:
- Monthly storage (cubic feet): Storage is billed by the cubic feet of space your inventory occupies. This applies whether your inventory is stored on racks, shelves, or palletized in racking. Minimums may apply depending on your service mix.

Receiving and handling: Inbound storage inventory is billed with receiving and handling fees for verifying contents, recording locations, and putting inventory away. Fees may also apply for palletizing cartons, wrapping pallets, and other inbound handling needs.

Carton forwarding fees: Carton forwarding includes handling, case-level checks, and preparing cartons or pallets to ship to Amazon FBA, AWD, Walmart WFS, or other destinations.

Do you offer both short-term and long-term storage?
Our storage program is designed for brands that need an ongoing logistics partner. You can use storage short-term while SKUs move through other services like e-commerce fulfillment, or as a long-term option when you order products in bulk and forward them to Amazon (or other channels) periodically by the case.
How do you charge for storage?
We charge for storage by cubic feet, based on the space your inventory occupies in our warehouse. This approach is designed to scale more fairly as your inventory levels rise and fall.
How do you measure cubic feet?
In general, cubic feet are calculated using the outside dimensions of the cartons or stored product footprint (length × width × height), converted to cubic feet. If you palletize inventory, we measure the pallet footprint and the stacked height as stored.
Can I store inventory that is used for both FBA and D2C?
Yes. We can store inventory that feeds both channels. For D2C fulfillment, we store pickable units in accessible locations and keep backstock organized. For FBA, we can store case-packed cartons and forward them as needed.
